This year's live music & film making event
was held from March 18-21, 2006!Everything went great! During the actual shoot,
we had more artists, more volunteers, more cameras, and even a larger crowd!! Hooray!
The films, TV programs, video shorts, and compilation CDs should be better than ever, and add to this great guerilla marketing experiment! Here is the First Ruff Video from this year's shoot/fest (with very poor camera audio)! Artists featured include The Fondue Monks, Ill, Scott Daniels Band, Little Brother Project, Roz Zamorano, Carrie Ann & the Apocolyptics, Koo Rod, Vibe Committee, Jimmy Deen, Collective Hallucination, Orange Is In, and more... Marlo Blue's Guerilla Marketing Experiment
Only a part of Marlo Blue's original concept, SOUTH BY DUE EAST has become an annual event in Houston, showcasing original music while Blue and Guy Schwartz film and record to make video aimed at travelling the web and creating a buzz for the Houston music scene, all of the great individual artists and bands featured, as well as Schwartz' New Jack Hippies band....
The atmosphere at SOUTH BY DUE EAST is one of community.. There is no cover charge. Donations towards the movie expenses are appreciated, and all are encouraged to purchase CD DVD compilations from previous festivals, as well as recorded product from all of the artists.
