"The video Guy & MArlo made from South By Due East got me right in the door.
They would have never written that article if they hadn't seen that video!"
-Rozzano Zamorano (World Reknown fusion bassist, SXDE artist)

We're always looking for help! If you can afford a cash donation, we can't offer a tax write-off, but we'll appreciate the help offsetting the costs of better gear, lots of tape, gigs of hard drives, charcoal and ice-chests of food for the artists, and all of the other expenses which go into the project.

will be held from March 14-17, 2008 Mission It's simple.
Every year, we make a film and CD featuring Click on videos, or read on. Mission? We've never formalized one. We're two Texas artists
SOUTH BY DUE EAST looks and feels like a music festival.
We set up multiple stages with digital multi-track audio recording rigs, Then we mix, edit and make an indie film, and put it up on the web, for free. The idea is - if somebody googles Los Skarnales and finds our film, they will have to sit through Sonny Boy Terry and Opie Hendrix while watching for Los Skarnales. Somebody looking for Fondue Monks will see Little Brother Project, de Sangre and Michael Heyman. We all get a shot at each other's audience, and the world gets a chance to hear us all. When it works right, we promote all of the artists, as well as promoting our rich music scene in Houston, Texas. We celebrate all types/genres of music. Then we give the participants a copy of the videos and audio, in whatever shape we have them. For free. Some of the artists will not make it onto our films or TV show (Hippies.TV), but all artists are welcome to the raw footage, the ruff mixes and any edits - to use as they see fit! Everyone wins! In 2006, we began opening up a few slots to artists from other parts of the world. The Frauds, from Baltimore, Maryland, USA were the first to break our local barrier, and rocked the house appropriately. Beginning in 2007, we started taking open submissions. Up to one third of our artists will come from these open submissions, while the rest will continue to come from our personal invitation and the recommendations of our music committee (if we told you who these people were, we'd have to shoot you). The process, deadlines and submission fees are posted on the artists submission page. If you are already planning to come to Austin, Texas for SXSW, we're 150 miles away, and begin our fest/movieshoot on the last day of SXSW's music fest. If you're not gonna be here in Texas, it's probably only a good idea for your band, if you need video and can afford the time and gasoline to get here. If you are a fan, come to Texas and take advantage of our smaller venue format, where you can get up close to the performers (during, before and after their show), before they make it big! Sorta like going to spring training and checking out the minor-leaguers before they hit the big leagues! Check out the videos! That way, you can check out all the bands and artists! New artists to see and hear! Cool! Everybody wins! Thanks for stopping by! Donations are accepted. -Guy & MArlo
